A small “M” occurs one of the most interesting choices in compact class in today’s motoring. True to BMW’s tradition, in terms of how it drives you can hardly mistake it for any other brand, even blindfolded. The feeling that everything is in place, right there under your fingers is unique. Then, it stands out for its compact size, focused and direct reactions to steering motions and easy release of its performance potential under any driving scenario (in the xdrive version). However, it is most of all about the quality of its technology and its ergonomic excellence with which it surpasses the expectations of a keen driver. The seat / steering wheel / sightline ensemble is perfectly balanced and the ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox shines in being smooth at low speeds and becoming quite aggressive at high speeds (be inspired and follow, Nissan GT-R!). By the way, the comparison isn’t far-fetched as the BMW M140 with its unlimited efficacy brings the Godzilla and its driving impressions to mind. You are invited to develop your own opinion – just try it on technical, curvy roads we take it on during our GT trips.
