The smallest car that raises the strongest emotions. This is not a hot hatch, it is a “homologation special” on Evo and STI levels. It’s powered by the world’s most powerful three-cylinder, but the (good) performance in this case is secondary. The GR Yaris has a manual transmission and GR-FOUR permanent all-wheel drive with three modes that switch the distribution of torque between the axles. A specially designed, widened 3-door body was built for WRC homologation. It has frameless windows and a low carbon roof and the car weighs 1,270 kg. The only common elements with an ordinary Yaris are lamps, mirrors and an antenna. Our car has Torsen shafts on the front and rear axles and light, forged rims. The car was developed with help of Tommi Mäkinen, a 4-time world rally champion nicknamed “The Flying Finn”. Production is largely hand-made in the same factory where the Lexus LFA was assembled.
