Making the 458 was another milestone in Ferrari history. With 488, it is going to be the same story because it marks the first time a convertible baby Ferrari is not inferior in terms of handling to the coupé body. We had the latter one in our garage for a year and never heard a single opinion below “excellent”. The 488’s potential reaches far beyond anything we’re accustomed to expect from a road car. It ushers the driver into the world of performance so far only available to race-bred machinery. Now combine it with headroom going up to the sky and even more direct feel – the immediate and candid driver/car interaction. What we get is simply perfect supercar. Knowing how boldly it sounds, we think this might be the best supercar of our day.
