We know it may sound weird considering its country of origin, but… it’s hard to believe just how stunning it looks! As it arrived, the first impression was as spectacular as that made by Huracán or Aventador. Add the intensive blue so you just gaze in awe as its stands in the sun. Then start the engine (through “Performance” exhaust) and let it rule, acoustically conquest the place and demand some involved driving. And driving is where it really shines, with utmost German perfection. While we’re hardly short of objections as regards today’s cars, still some of them are simply way better than their predecessors – and second-generation R8 certainly is one. Its handling is immaculate; its braking power steals the show from anything we know about. And when it accelerates, the fuzz it makes compares to a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. 2018’s bestseller? Quite possibly.
